France is by far the most popular country for camping in Europe. There are regions in France where almost no village comes without a campsite. Particulary when taking into account all the small farm campsites as well. Yet there are some places notably more popular than others, with more campsite capacity than anywhere else. Take for instance Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Royan and Les Mathes on the westcoast. Or Argeles-sur-Mer and Agde in the south, along the mediterranean coast. And of course inland places such as Annecy and Sarlat-la-Caneda.
