More about Camping Belle Roche

Belle Roche campsite in Isère is beautifully laid out, with spacious pitches, lots of greenery and lots of play. You will not find a water slide, water castle or animation, but it is nevertheless a real family campsite. There is a swimming pool, play equipment on a pronounced large playing field in the middle of the campsite and there are quite a few children. What we noticed is that you won't notice it later in the evening: the sound of children playing makes way for the crickets and everything comes to rest. The camp site arranges bread for your breakfast but has no shop (for that you have to be in the village or in Mens, a 20-minute drive). There is a restaurant with good food for a modest price.

What to do in the neighborhood?
Keep in mind that for many things you have to drive for a while. But there is plenty to do: you can enjoy cycling and walking, for example at the Col de l’Arzelier, from where you can reach a nice walking area with a chair lift (just about the only one open here in the summer). From Gresse-En-Vercors you can walk on a ledge where you have a beautiful view. Or you can go to the Passerelle de l’Ebron / Du Drac, two impressive suspension bridges over the Lac de Monteynard. Not far from the campsite you have a beautiful spot on the river, where officially you are not allowed to swim, but nobody seems to care, especially the French. It is good to be on one of the rocks along the fresh water. In Saint-Michel-les-Portes you have a beautiful climbing forest, the Parcours Aventures Trièves. And don't forget that you are camping here practically on the outskirts of Isère: with an hour's drive to the south you are already in the Drôme, where you can canoe beautifully. The road from the campsite to The one in the Drôme, with the Gorges des Gâts, is worth the effort. Also nice: drive via the Col de Menée to Vallon de Combau and walk from there up to Pas de l'Essaure: marmots, lots of circling vultures and beautiful views.
