Campsites on the Ile de Ré
In the southwest of France, off the coast at La Rochelle, lies one of the most popular destinations of the area: the sunny Ile de Ré.
The island is known as a good place to cycle (cycle paths are abundant) and to enjoy nature and the small villages with white houses. You have Saint-Martin-de-Ré, the lively capital of the island, with its pleasant harbor. And of course there are the ocean and the vast sandy beaches that are never far away.
view on the map With everything the island has to offer, it is not surprising that the range of camping spots is generous: you can choose from more than forty (for the most part medium-sized) campsites. For example, centrally located on the island, near the sea, you will find Camping L'Océan (338 pitches, restaurant, swimming pool, tent rental), or in the southeast, on the landside of La Flotte, Camping De Bel Air (3 stars, 250 places). Camping La Combe À L'eau - Ars En Ré is located practically on the beach of the Atlantic.
