Campsites in the Provence
With its many charming villages and towns, the warm climate, beautiful scenery (and the stereotype lavender fields), Provence is one of the most characteristic and most popular destinations in France.
The Provence is actually the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, a large area in the southeast of France (often called PACA). Within Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur are places like Briançon in the north, Avignon in the west to Nice and Saint-Tropez on the Côte d'Azur in the south.
view on the map The range of things to see and do is simply enormous. For example, you will find the Gorges du Verdon , the impressive river gorge that is always worth a visit. Or the Lac de Sainte-Croix with the beautiful town of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon on the shore of the lake. More to the west you will find the mountain range of Luberon , halfway between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. Oh, and Avignon itself of course, one of the highlights of Provence.
But don't forget the countless villages and towns such as Seillans , a hilltop village in the Var, or Sainte-Agnès , a beautiful medieval village in the Alpes-Maritimes. And of course there is the Côte d'Azur , all the way in the south that too is still part of the Provence.
The range of campsites here has also expanded enormously. Large, small, luxurious, simple or different than usual everything can be found here.
