Campsites along the Autoroute du Soleil

Coming from the Channel Tunnel or one of the ferries from the UK, it is quite a long drive if you want to reach the south coast of France for the holiday. That is why we have collected the campsites along the Autoroute du Soleil, the stretch Lyon-Orange-Marseille (A7), and put them on the map for you.

view on the map Take it easy on yourself and just rest a night at a campsite, with some wine and good food - instead of an energy drink in the bustle of a gas station late at night. The next morning you will be rested again, you can have a decent cup of coffee and you will be on your way.

Before you start your trip, find out about the busiest days in France. You can find a lot of traffic-related information, including the busiest days of the year, on the French website of Bison Futé (available in English).

Around Lyon

Just before Lyon, check out these campsites: Camping Les Portes Du Beaujolais, Camping Kanopée Village or (a bit more to the south) Camping De Lyon. Just after Lyon, you can spend the night at Camping Des Barolles. More to the south (and somewhat further away from the highway) lies Camping La Trillonnière. If you don't driving another fifty kilometers or so more south, you will find Camping Les Rives De Condrieu (directly on the river Rhône) and Camping Des Nations.
